2016 Chardonnay

The 2016 vintage is a late release of our unfined and unfiltered Chardonnay from Lonnie Wright’s Volcano Ridge Vineyard located in the highlands near The Dalles. We aged the Chardonnay in Predominantly French (and a few American) barrels. We initiated malolactic fermentation which was controlled to produce subtle, but noticeable buttery creaminess. The fruit, oak and butteriness are perfectly balanced in this wine , avoiding the pitfalls of wines that have any one of these too pronounced. The result is a wine we are very proud of!
