This blend features Merlot with just enough Petit Verdot and Malbec to make it a proper blend reflective of all 3 grapes. Merlot is often overlooked as a timid wine but we like to make it in a style worthy of a big Cabernet. This allows Merlot to show off its big-boy qualities and makes it a blend that we love to drink and share.  180 cases

We’re pleased to have another great vintage of the Elerding Vineyard Cab. For the second year in a row, Wine Spectator has scored this wine 90+ points. We blended it with just a touch (2%) of Petite Verdot grown in the same vineyard.
This wine has aromas of cassis, blackberry, dark rose and forest floor and flavors of dark cherry, dark chocolate, espresso, and leather on the palate. It is a very nice balance of fruit and earth, exactly how we like to make our wine.

2012 Petit Verdot

We were intrigued by what this wine offered as a standalone grape so we bottled a small amount as 100% Petit Verdot to share with you. This grape is typically used in blends in very small quantities and is characterized by its intensity and strong influence as a blending grape. 39 cases

We sourced our first Cab fruit from Echo West vineyard in 2010 and it was possibly the best wine we’ve ever made. Sadly, a winter frost doomed the vineyard to no fruit in 2011 so we have had to wait 2 years to have another chance to make wine from this unique and wonderful vineyard. Worth the wait.

2013 Resolution

Resolution is a blend of Walla Walla Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The Merlot originates from 2 separate vineyards which gives us added complexity. When mixed at just the right ratios, the combination of these grapes become a balanced, classic Bordeaux styled blend. 173 cases

2013 Prima Nata

Prima Nata translates from Italian to loosely mean “first born”. For us, the blend that most exemplifies the type of wine we want to make at Seven Bridges each year earns the designation as our Prima Nata. Cabernet earned the emphasis this year with the highest percent we’ve ever used in our flagship blend. 225 cases

60% Cabernet, 19% Merlot, 11% Malbec, 8% Cab Franc, 2% Petit Verdot

This has quickly become one of our most popular wines and was our fastest selling wine of the 2012 vintage. The grape has a distinct complexity and has been very fun to work with. While traditionally great in blends, we’ve found this wine to be more than  worthy of single varietal bottling. 101 cases

Syrah has been called a winemaker’s grape meaning the winemaker can have a strong influence on the style the wine becomes through winemaking techniques. We crafted our Syrah to be soft and approachable with big, luscious fruit and just enough acidity and tannins to balance the wine. It is dark and rich in color and flavors.

The grapes were sourced from Seven Hills Vineyard which is one the first commercial vineyards in Walla Walla, first planted in 1980.  It has a relatively high elevation for the area producing fruit with bright fruit qualities and early ripening. Seven Hills has been described as one of the “Great Vineyards of the World” by wine industry publications and has become known for producing excellent Syrah grapes in recent years.

We expect this wine to continue to improve for at least 3-5 years in cellar and is expected to age well for 10+ years.
